PICKING MANAGMENT
It might be a unit picking when are pulled out good from a box or box picking when are picked from a pallet or a container.
It is a basic warehousing process and has an important influence on supply chain's productivity since in may cases is the bottle neck of it. It is normally an intense man working and its optimization and mechanization is one of the ways to improve the performance of the internal logistic chain of the companies.
Its improvement goes though, as is sensible, to eliminate the unproductive of the process. The most unproductive is usually related to the displacement between the locations where the picking process of the different products is made.
To eliminate such displacements there hare two positions normally dirvengent, the first based on process modification to reducesd the shifts basically within order consolidation service and on the other hand in automatize with machinery that transports the goods container to the picking is going to be made to a central picking post in where the worker is to perform the mentioned task.
